Mad, Bad or Dangerous
The Prison of my Mental Health
Farah Damji the founder and a writer for The View Magazine, a magazine for women with conviction. She is a former prisoner and a woman in conflict with the law. She writes about her own experience of mental health and recovery and how The View challenges our stereotypes about women in the criminal justice system. The View shines a light on how women with serious mental health diagnosis are treated.
Download a copy of Beyond Reason draft Manifesto (Working Title) , a manifesto for change in the way that mental health services are delivered to people in coercive settings such as secure units and prisons. The second document is a call to action and some background about trauma and women, and how this applies today. The presentation is one I gave at the CLSA AGM in November 2019.
